This plant produces clusters of small, sweetly scented white flowers that are often tinged with pink in the summer. Used for thousands of years, the roots of this plant can be dried and prepared into tablets, powder or capsules. When ingested it acts like a relaxant that reduces nervous tension, anxiety and promotes restful sleep.
In the past the leaves have been used as a condiment.
Plant in any garden soil that is kept moist in full sun/part shade.
