HARDY EVERGREEN PERENNIAL. Ht 1-2M.Also known as Chilean guava. This plant produces masses of scented white-cream flowers in summer. The flowers are followed by aromatic, tangy bright red edible berries which taste like spicy strawberries.
The berries can be eaten raw, added to fruit salads, scattered over muesli, used in sauces, preserves, jams and jellies.
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun/part shade in a sheltered spot.
