Also known as knotted marjoram or knot marjoram. This plant is extremely aromatic and has a high content of oil. It is the best variety for flavour and is among the main ingredient of bouquet garni. Add the leaves to tomato sauces, spaghetti bolognaise, pizza, meat and tomato dishes, vegetables and milk-based desserts.
Plant in well-drained, loamy soil in full sun.
