This plant produces large celery scented leaves and stems with fleshy roots.
It adds a meaty flavour to food and can be used in salads, to flavour soups, stews, stocks and savoury dishes. Rub the leaves on chicken or around salad bowls. The young shoots and leaf stalks can be blanched and eaten as a vegetable.
Plant in fertile, rich, well-drained soil in full sun/part shade.
