This plant has extremely pungent, sweet lemon-scented leaves with brackets of small white flowers in summer. Add the fresh leaves to flavour oil, vinegar, drinks, fruit puddings, confectionery, apple jelly, cakes and stuffing. Infuse leaves in hot water to make a delicious tea or add a teaspoon of chopped leaves to ice cream or on top of a lemon drizzle cake. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun, in a sheltered spot.
