As well as being edible, bronze fennel is a fantastic focal plant for the garden or patio. It has striking, almost metallic feathery leaves, which glisten in the sun. It can be used as an additional seasoning for pork, lamb, poultry, fish and stuffing. Finely chopped leaves sprinkled over salads, cooked vegetables, in soups and the stems add an extra crunch to summer salads. Plant in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
