SUBTROPICAL EVERGREEN PERENNIAL. Ht 4-6m.
This plant is indigenous to India where it grows in forests and wasteland throughout the subcontinent. It produces clusters of small white sweetly scented, star-shaped flowers in late summer. The leaves are very fragrant and are used widely in curries and spicy dishes. Almost impossible to obtain in the UK, because of the climate.
Plant in rich, fertile soil in full sun. Best grown in a conservatory or greenhouse and will rarely survive in temperatures below 8 degrees.
