The Jalapeno chilli is a medium-sized fruit that turns from green to red. The fruits are fairly hot and can be picked at either stage of maturity; however, they seem to have the best flavour when green. Known as the classic pizza chilli, Jalapenos can be pickled, cooked or eaten raw and used in a variety of different dishes. For best results, grow in a greenhouse or conservatory. Plant in rich, well-drained soil in full sun and feed regularly.
