This unusual variety is very fragrant and has spicy, citrus undertones that smell remarkably of mulled wine spices. It produces fragrant, light purple flowers in summer.
The leaves and flowers can be added to herbal teas, summer drinks, used as a garnish on soups, pasta dishes and salads. It also goes well with dark meat dishes and stews.
The flowers can also be frozen in ice cubes.
Plant somewhere sheltered from the wind in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
This plant grows particularly well on windowsills and is ideal for pots and containers.
