Native to Europe and central Asia, wild angelica has erect purplish stems and rounded umbels of minuscule white or pale pink flowers in late summer. Traditionally used as a vegetable until the 20th century the stem can be eaten fresh or cooked. The plant has also been used for dyeing. Plant in fairly rich soil in part shade/ full sun.
