This is one of the largest cultivated varieties of tomatoes available. Beefsteak can produce fruits weighing up to 700 grams that have a firm flesh and a distinctive flavour.
It is advisable to support both the fruits as well as the plant to prevent the branches from breaking off under the weight of the fruit. The plant can be grown in containers, growbags or in the ground and will need supporting with strong canes, sticks or a growing frame. Plant in rich, well-drained soil in full sun. Feed regularly with tomato fertiliser.
