Horseradish is very easy to grow. Just one plant will last for many years. The root can be grated into coleslaw, dips, pickled beetroot, cream cheese, sauces and avocado fillings. It also goes very well with roast beef and oily fish. The young leaves can be added sparingly to salads. The root has the strongest flavour in autumn. Plant in light, fertile soil in part shade. This plant is very invasive and may need a patch all to itself.
