This plant produces lots of striking, blue/ purplish, star shaped flowers all summer.
Easy to grow, the flowers can be added to ice cubes, tossed in salads or crystallised for cake decoration. They will turn pink if dipped in lemon juice or vinegar.
The leaves have a cool cucumber flavour and can be added to salads, cold summer drinks, cream cheese and yogurt.
Although a hardy annual, in mild winters borage has been known to survive throughout the season and tends to self seed.
Plant in well-drained, light soil in full sun.
