This plant is native to North America.
It produces attractive, fragrant pink-lavender flowers that are very attractive to bees and butterflies. The flowers are edible and can be sprinkled over salads. The fragrant leaves can be used to flavour dark meats and also go well with beans and pulses.
It is an excellent plant for a mixed border where sometimes it will self seed.
Plant in rich, fertile soil in part shade.
