Waltham butternut is a very popular, great-tasting variety that is slightly hardier then other well-known varieties. Known for its sweet, nutty orange flesh, thick cylindrical neck, and excellent storage ability. The fruits mature in late summer-autumn and taste even sweeter after storing for a few months.
The strong plants have a more compact, bushier habit than other varieties.
Expect around 6-7 bright orange squashes per plant.
Plant in rich, well-drained soil in full sun.
